Target group
High school 12th graders
Objective
To provide some basics understanding of crossmedia communication and transmedia storytelling. The course will be both theorethical and practical up to the development of the concept a basic transmedia experience.
Content
Media today - Why to study crossmedia. The field and its future perspectives. Introduction to the field - What are crossmedia communication and transmedia storytelling. Interactive media, participatory media, user generated content and other relevant terms and practices
Practical assignments:
Getting started in Creativity. The art of Storytelling. Main points to consider when creating stories across platforms. The narrative structure
Thinking beyond the obvious. The art of creating characters beyond the obvious choices
Learning outcomes
The students will master some basic theoretical understanding of storytelling across medium and will have a practical glance into a creative way of telling a story through different platforms
Requirements
Being capable to follow the workshop in english language and being at the last year of studies in highschool
