Kokkuvõttev lühikirjeldus
Do you want to understand complex developments in international politics? Are you curious about the state of modern politics and want to develop deeper knowledge of geopolitics, security, governance, and other issues? In this course, we will become equipped with knowledge about history and political theory to take an informed look at what goes on in the world. We will unpack modern international relations with an analytical perspective, taking IR theoretical and conceptual frameworks and our critical thinking to understand how issues like geopolitical disputes, the climate crisis, economic inequalities, trade wars, and so on intersect with our lived realities and understand whose voices matter and why.

Avardada arusaama maailmast ja selle vastuoludest ning olla võimeline kriitiliselt mõtlema rahvusvahelistele poliitilistele arengutele ja nende tagajärgedele.

Rahvusvahelised suhted, geopoliitika, julgeolek, ajalugu, poliitiline teooria, kriitiline mõtlemine
Õpiväljundid
saab aru rahvusvaheliste suhete peavoolu- ja kriitilistest teooriatest; arutleb kaasaegsete probleemide üle teoreetiliste teadmiste, ajaloo ja empiiriliste tõendite põhjal; on ette valmistatud edasisteks õpinguteks politoloogias, rahvusvahelistes suhetes, poliitökonoomias, valitsemises, julgeolekus, rahvusvahelises õiguses ja sellega seotud valdkondades; esitleb oma mõtteid kirjalikult akadeemilises inglise keeles.
Eeldused
Sihtrühma kuulumine. Vajalik on inglise keele oskus vähemalt B2-tasemel (suuline ja kirjalik). Eelteadmised riigiteadusest ja rahvusvahelistest suhetest ei ole vajalikud.

50% loenguid, 50% õppejõu juhitud auditoorseid arutelusid.
Kursuse läbimiseks õppija:
* Loeb iseseisvalt enne tundi etteantud kirjandust ja panustab selle alusel auditoorsetesse aruteludesse.
* Osaleb 80% auditoorsetest kohtumistest
* Saavutab iga ülesande (lõpueksam ja grupiesitlus) puhul vähemalt 50% tulemuse ning esitab need õigeaegselt Moodle'i kaudu või auditoorselt.
