Target group

Objective

To explain the role of human behaviour and cognitions in the Interaction Design process and methods. To give a deep understanding of psychological reasons for the individual perception and social behaviour of users which helps designers to improve product usability and user experience. To assist future designers in creating products, keeping in mind the human's latent needs, cognitive processes (e.g., sensations, attention, perception, etc.), motivation, emotions, and social influences on human behaviour.

Content

Understanding human behaviours, related to user interaction. Understanding cognitive processes (sensation, attention, perception etc.), and application of various psychological laws in the Interaction Design. Theories of emotion and motivation and application of different principles in design. Connecting Social Psychology and Interaction Design. Overview of research methods, types of data, and data collection methods rooted in psychology and used in design research.

Learning outcomes

can understand various perspectives of psychology and their application in Interaction design; can understand the role of human cognitive processes, motivation, emotions, social influences, and their applications in the Interaction Design; can apply various laws of psychology relevant to the Interaction Design process

Graduation requirements

theoretical lectures (8) in the classrooms that provide the required knowledge of psychological theories and laws related to interaction design, individual works.
