Anyone who is interested in photography as a means of expression, wish to gain more from using their digital camera and to learn some basic skills for processing of digital images. Participants will get feedback to their own works and independent creative tasks. This is an entry-level training.

Get to know basic skills of photography.

Module I. Space and image space. Qualities of a photographic image. Architecture, urban space and landscape. Use of digital camera settings and optics for different results.
Module II. Portrait, self-portrait, group portrait. Documentary photography and storytelling. Feedback to participants' images. Digital image: file formats, tools for digital manipulation, lightness, contrast and perspective.
Module III. The object, the space and light. Still life compositions and meaningful objects. Feedback and discussions. Digital image processing: the colour filters, layers and collage.
Module IV. Staging the objects in contemporary photographic art. Composition of a series of photographs. Feedback and discussions of participants' works. Materials for printing and exhibiting photographs.

As a result of the course, the participants: are aware of the large variety of possibilities for photographic expression, have acquired practical skills for experimenting with composition of a series of photographs and digital image manipulation.
